Two fine works in spaces smaller than your attic: Redtwist Theatre in Edgewater gives pride of place to an early play by Pulitzer-Prizewinner Bruce Norris set on the homefront during the Vietnam War.  Trap Door Theatre offers two plays, one a U.S. premier, by Czech Velvet Revolutionary Vaclav Havel.  Even if you don't remember who he is, you'll find Havel's loopily bitter comedy a perfect complement to a midwinter's night.

Bruce Norris released an open letter to the Dramatist's League over a German theater company's decision to cast a white woman wearing blackface in a production of his play Clybourne Park.

Bruce Norris apologized to Steppenwolf for leaving them out of his speech after winning a Tony for Clybourne Park, says the Sun-Times, who got a copy of the letter.
