Chicago Public Schools is laying off a massive number of teachers and school staff. 2,113 employees will get pink slips—about half of them are teachers. Teacher aides, clerks, lunch staff, and security guards are also affected.
A top Chicago Public Schools official is expected back on the stand Thursday morning. Dr. Markay Winston was the first witness for the Chicago Board of Education, which started presenting evidence late Wednesday afternoon.
