It was clear at Wednesday’s monthly Board of Education meeting that news about an internal CPS memo has further damaged public trust.

Linda Rudy got curious after railroad ties were pulled out of a Wells Street project. 

Brenda Guzman asked Curious City to find at least one "thing" you can get in Chicago that you cannot get anywhere else. She says she's open to interpretation: That thing can be an object, a food, an experience, a statistic, etc. So what do you think? Add your insight and we'll turn it into a song.  

Lowell Wyse moved to Chicago's North Side neighborhood Rogers Park from Kansas, and couldn't help marveling at the area's international mix. He wonders what role the city plays in settling international refugees, and if that has anything to do with his neighborhood being so diverse. WBEZ's Odette Yousef investigates.  

CPS officials are still seeking an extension of the state-mandated Dec. 1 deadline for announcing school closures this year. The five-year moratorium would not start until after the coming wave of closures, and a press release says the moratorium hinges on that deadline extension.

In CPS, there are no fewer than 13 different standardized tests and parents looking for ways out.
