The‚  city of Chicago's started demolishing the structures Walter Gropius helped build at Michael Reese Hospital campus. Gropius, of course, is the famed founder of the Bauhaus. The Friend Convalescent Home, pictured before and after, is the first of the buildings to hit the dirt.

Today I spent part of the morning with Raquel Rolnik, a special rapporteur on housing for the U.N. I had to look up the meaning, too.

Today was the third day of the American Bankers Association convention in Chicago. That also means today was the second day of protests against the bank leadership.
