Justin's been bragging all week about the hefty roster of politicians, bloggers, and commentators he got for tonight's Primary Election live chat.

As many of you know, our very own "The Real Deal" Richard Steele is quite the legend in Chicago, and in radio history. Well, another Richard-Richard Stamz-made his way in the Chicago‚ radio world by breaking racial barriers, and using his big personality to open every door he could.

And, of course she's OUR favorite reviewer but the award ultimately went to Joan Acocella, a dance critic for The New Yorker. (we thought "Book Critics Circle" was limited to book reviewers but I digress...). I know, I know, how did she lose and be a finalist at the same time?

The Spares performed live on Eight Forty-Eight this morning and told Alison about their unique blend of styles and how their friendly sparring contributes to their creativity. They were an easy going trio (Jason Reed sat in on mandolin.) I caught them while they were tuning up.
