The Cook County Forest Preserve includes 68,000 acres of public prairies, forests and wetlands. Depending on the location, visitors can do many things in the preserves, from horseback riding to bird watching.
Change is underway at the Cook County Forest Preserve. In December 2010, Arnold Randall was tapped to oversee the county’s 68,000 acres of land. Despite those hefty holdings, the Forest Preserve still has a low profile.
