Today Governor Pat Quinn visited Chicago-area volunteers who’ve been collecting relief supplies for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. He promised to try and secure a plane to ship thousands of boxes of donated goods to Manila.
Mayor Emanuel has three big things he wants from Springfield. 1) Casinos. 2) Speeding cameras and 3) a huge statue of him sitting on top of the statue of Abraham Lincoln. Okay, maybe not a huge statue, maybe the third was keeping the Mercantile Exchange in Chicago.

City Council members are coming out in support of a Chicago casino, but Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is questioning their position.Aldermen approved a resolution at the city council meeting Thursday that calls for revenue from the possible casino to fund infrastructure projects.
