Trade shows and conventions are booking Chicago's McCormick Place after a labor agreement with the city was reached last week. The new agreement allows McCormick exhibitors to unload vehicles and set up booths, rather than have union workers do it for them."
Ill. Gov. Pat Quinn said legislators should prepare to re-address new labor rules for workers at McCormick Place. Labor groups sued after the General Assembly passed new rules that allow exhibitors to do more of their own work setting up for conventions, instead of using union workers.
