The WBEZ Clothing Swap was yesterday. Staff brings in old clothes and exchanges the items. We went down to the swap with our old clothes,‚ which was a hat representing our old days at the station.‚ We wanted to see what we could get...
You may recall a little video we posted back in May. That was the first day of the Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! push-up club (you can occasionally find push-up updates on their twitter account). Since then we have been taking 10-15 minutes every other day to do push-ups. Lots and lots of push-ups.
So I realize that most of you are coming to the Chicago Public Radio blog to find out all you can about your favorite personalities. It just so happens that I've worked at the station long enough to have amassed a large database or unique and obscure trivia on my fellow staff members.
When we reporters go out and get stories, we use electricity. This electricity comes from batteries. These batteries die, and get tossed into boxes back here at the WBEZ mothership. These boxes pile up "¦ um, for years.
So this morning, after firing off my blog post, I noticed it wasn't published for quite a while. It turns out, the senior blog team was in a high-level meeting planning out the week to come. They've even got a fancy-schmancy blog white board that details what's on tap.
