Scott Lee Cohen, the former Democratic nominee for Illinois lieutenant governor, announced an independent bid for governor this morning outside the Thompson Center in downtown Chicago. He was flanked by roughly two dozen supporters.
UPDATE:The House did not end up voting Wednesday on the redistricting amendment. It has adjourned until 10 a.m. Thursday. I'm checking with Speaker Mike Madigan's spokesman to see if there is a new timeline for the amendment's consideration.
