Illinois doctors could soon start prescribing marijuana to their patients. Gov. Pat Quinn Thursday signed a bill legalizing medical marijuana. He said it’s needed as a source of therapy for those with crippling medical conditions.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — An Illinois medicine-monitoring program has joined a national data-sharing network to help prevent prescription drug abuse.The Department of Human Services will link its prescription monitoring program to a National Association of Boards of Pharmacy network.
The idea behind a referendum is to give voters a direct voice in making their community better. These ballot questions can cover anything from stem-cell research to the fate of an empty lot. They may be binding or just advisory. Last month, referenda were on ballots in nine Chicago precincts.
