Today for Global Activism, we talk with three past Global Activists who are collaborating to help people. Their common denominator is that they help HIV/AIDS-affected people in Kenya. Keen Harrison, from Project Harambee joins us, along with Fr. Terry Charlton, co-founder and chaplain at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School and Guy Vaccaro, executive director and president of Upendo Village.
"Harambee" is a Kiswahili term that means "all pull together." When Kathleen Harrison gave her non-profit organization the name Project Harambee, she was hoping to pull a lot together in many little ways.
