President Obama and congressional leaders may be trying to cut the federal budget, but they’ve agreed to pour more than a half-billion dollars of new funds into Race to the Top, the president’s signature education program.
Illinois is releasing school-by-school test score data Friday, and it shows 2010 to be a watershed year: More than half of the state’s schools are now considered failing under the federal No Child Left Behind law.
