The head of the Republican National Committee is dismissing the gun control provisions announced today by President Barack Obama as an "executive power grab."

"CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.”

"Unfortunately, he’s a Packer fan. And I felt that we needed a little bit of balance today," said one Illinois delegate displaying a Chicago jersey. 

Gay-marriage advocates are lobbying Illinois Republicans at the party’s national convention. But it’s not clear how their message is being received.

As of Tuesday, Mitt Romney has all the nominating votes from Illinois’ delegation at the Republican National Convention - including some from supporters of former presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

Illinois Republicans are moving forward with their scheduled itinerary in Tampa, Florida despite Monday’s events at the Republican National Convention being postponed.
