Film and TV show maker Eric Monte created the American classic based on his life and times living in Cabrini-Green and attending Cooley Vocational High School. The film's 40th anniversary is this week. Cooley High stars Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs and Chicago-born Robert Townsend discuss the iconic film and its impact.
Inner City Entertainment, also known as the ICE theater chain, will officially re-open one of its theaters in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood. The theater closed about four years ago. ICE has been in business almost for fifteen years now.
