Emergency crews searched an Oklahoma City suburb Tuesday for survivors of a tornado that flattened homes and demolished a school. At least 24 people were killed, including at least nine children, and those numbers were expected to climb.
Gov. Pat Quinn says nine southern Illinois counties struck by deadly storms are eligible for U.S. Small Business Administration aid.Quinn's announcement came Thursday, a day after the state's appeal for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency was denied.
