Voter turnout was near the record low in suburban Cook County on Tuesday. About 16 percent of registered voters took to the polls, with some precincts still not counted.The record low was in 2007 when 17 percent of voters cast ballots.
The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners said Election Day ran smoothly in the city.Langdon Neal is the chairman of the board. He's predicting voter turnout between 50 and 55 percent.
