Today, we catch up with Global Activist, Lara DeVries. She left her childhood town of Tinley Park, Illinois and moved to Peru&rsquo;s Huaycan community to help impoverished families. DeVries is founder and executive director of <a href="http://www.lightandleadership.org/">The Light and Leadership Initiative</a>. Her group assists mothers and children in their struggle out of extreme poverty by improving access to quality education.
