The filmmaker grew up on the South Side. <em>The Kite </em>is a journey to his homeland – India – offers a glimpse into an annual kite flying festival and some tense family dynamics.&nbsp; The film will premier locally Tuesday night - at the <a href="http://www.chicagofilmfestival.com/entries_and_requirements/" target="_blank">Chicago International Film Festival</a>.
