Member Meet-up: ’90s Time Machine Edition

You may have heard rumblings of the WBEZ Member Meet-up: '90s Time Machine Edition at Haymarket Pub & Brewery. We invite you to join WBEZ and your fellow members as we let our hair down and reflect upon that fateful decade!

We’ve created a video reel of cultural highlights from the decade, which will be playing on the TV’s surrounding the pub throughout the evening. We’ll also spotlight a conversation between 90’s Saturday Night Live Alum Nora Dunn and our very own Alison Cuddy, which will explore the question: Where were you in the '90s? Then, like any good party, we’ll dance it all off with two hours of open dancing to the hits.

The WBEZ member who comes “Best Dressed for the '90s” will receive a specially curated prize pack. This package includes Season 1 and 2 of Saved by the Bell, among many other iconic 90’s goodies.

Member Meet-Up: Curious City Trivia Bowl Edition

Curious City is WBEZ’s project where you get to ask the questions and together we find answers. Join us in-person for our first ever Trivia Bowl hosted by the project’s creator Jennifer Brandel! We’ll pick 10 questions posed to Curious City and you’ll team up to guess the answers. Your team may even get a WBEZ on-air personality to help you out. The winning team will be showered with prizes, Curious City swag and bragging rights til’ the next one.

Bring your Membercard or email record of your membership for a Goose Island Beer on us.”

What's brewing in Chicago? The Public Square presents a lively conversation on the politics of beer—past and present. Join us to take a look back in Chicago's history as the beer capital of the world, then fast forward to the rise of microbreweries today.

Featured guest speakers are Elizabeth Garibay, public program manager at the Chicago History Museum and founder of the Tales, Taverns & Towns web project, and Pete Crowley, owner of Haymarket Pub and Brewery and president of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.
