Season 5 has brought you stories about local bats, neighborhood origins and all-out vegetable warfare. And after all that excitement, it’s time to take a break. Whew.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be planning our next season, and — as always — we could use your input.

If you’ve listened to our podcast or have heard our segments on air, you know we’re prone to experiment with all sorts of storytelling formats. Now’s your chance to let us know what works for you and what doesn’t.

Consider spending five minutes completing our survey below. It will go a long way into shaping the stories you hear coming out of your radio (or your earbuds). Maybe take a few more minutes to share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.

There's one more thing. We’ve been seeing each other for a while now and it’s getting pretty serious. Don’t you think it might be time to make this relationship iTunes official? We’re down on one knee, will you subscribe to our podcast?

Loading...

Wed, 27 Aug 2014 21:21:00 -0500 http://www.wbez.org/series/curious-city/do-us-solid-help-curious-city-podcast-survey-110717 Love + Radio podcast releases new episode on pedobaiting http://www.wbez.org/blogs/bez/2013-02/love-radio-podcast-releases-new-episode-pedobaiting-105791

The Love + Radio podcast is one of WBEZ's edgiest enterprises. Over three seasons and more than half a decade, Nick van der Kolk has carved out a space akin to Errol Morris in the audio world. After his season two episode "The Wisdom of Jay Thunderbolt" won the top prize at the Third Coast International Audio Festival in 2011, WBEZ became a finanical backer of the experimental podcast.

While the content of the podcast is far darker and explicit than anything else we produce, it is compelling to hear first person accounts of questionable life choices. Like the best of cable dramas, Love + Radio features stories of conflicted characters- every one of them at least somewhat morally ambiguous.

In the new episode, titled "Jack and Ellen" listeners get a detailed first hand account of a young woman who practices pedobaiting- defined by Urban Dictionary as "the act of pretending to be a sexually active minor online in order to lure ('bait') pedophiles." If that weren't enough of a moral grey area, this woman also blackmails those who fall for her scheme and lives off those profits.

If you've read this far, you probably know this is content intended for adult audiences. Fans of HBO dramas should be fine with this episode.

Subscribe to Love + Radio on iTunes.

Wed, 27 Feb 2013 13:39:00 -0600 http://www.wbez.org/blogs/bez/2013-02/love-radio-podcast-releases-new-episode-pedobaiting-105791
