This three day event will offer baked goods by local pastry chefs, plus heirloom, organic, and locally grown seedlings specifically selected to grow well in Chicago. The fundraiser will benefit the project&#39;s learning programs. Please remembert to BYOBT (Bring Your Own Bags and Trays). Admission FREE, baked goods and seedlings additional, and act as your donation.</p><p><strong>Saturday, May 11</strong></p><p><a href="http://www.foodtrucks-oakpark.info/"><u><em>Oak Park&#39;s inaugural Great Food Truck Rally</em></u></a> at the Pilgrim Congregational Church. The church will also have a limited supply of their famous homemade donuts (plain, powdered sugar, and cinnamon sugar) as <a href="http://www.saveur.com/article/Travels/Holy-Sweets-Chicago-Doughnuts"><u>featured in <em>Saveur</em> magazine</u></a>. The church building itself, Queen Anne Revival Style and on the National Register of Historic Places, will be open for tours. Plus Oak Park&#39;s own <a href="http://www.animalcareleague.org/index.html"><u>Animal Care League</u></a> will hold an adoption event with dogs, cats, bunnies, and guinea pigs on the West Lawn. Admission $8, $10 door.</p><p><strong>Monday, May 13</strong></p><p><a href="http://chicagohistory.org/planavisit/upcomingevents/dinner-series"><u><em>Chicago History Museum dinner series: 1893 World&#39;s Fair &mdash; 2013 Style</em></u></a> at Atwood Café at the Hotel Burnham. Celebrate the 120th anniversary of the World&#39;s Columbian Exposition with archive-researched courses by chef Derek Simcik and senior curator Libby Mahoney. The always thoughtful and inventive Simcik will discuss the exposition&#39;s banquets, while Mahoney shares stories about the fair, all under the roof of the historic Reliance Building designed by Burnham &amp; Root.
