Jason Marck
Jason Marck is the director of The Afternoon Shift with Steve Edwards. He's responsible for making sure all the content for a given day fits together in a cohesive, thoughtful way so that the show feels more like a conversation and less like a lecture. He also produces individual segments, chooses the music, and is a frequent substitute host of this program, Eight Forty Eight, and Radio M
Prior to joining the staff of WBEZ in 2004, Jason worked as a producer, director and writer for Fox Sports Radio’s nationally syndicated morning show in Los Angeles, CA.
Before that he was a programmer, creative services director, and morning host for KLZR radio in Lawrence, Kansas, where he helped develop and grow one of the first alternative music stations in the country. He was also a director of jazz programming and producer/host of a Grateful Dead program at his college radio station KJHK.
Jason has been honored for his production and on-air work from the Chicago Headline Club, the James Beard Foundation, and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.
Jason is an avid photographer and life-long drummer. He studied music history and communications at the University of Kansas. A native of Chicago, Jason lives in the Rogers Park neighborhood with his wife, Sharone, and his son Ari.
