Leah Pickett was born in Dallas, Tex., but years of watching Siskel & Ebert inspired her to move to Chicago and study film at Columbia College. 

In addition to blogging about popular culture for WBEZ.org, Pickett is a staff writer for the music webzine Pop’stache and a freelance contributor to the dining section of the Chicago Tribune.

Like many young artists and writers of her generation, she currently resides in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood.
