In May, Chicago will host the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit. NATO members are expected to discuss a range of issues, including its role in Afghanistan. NATO-trained Afghan forces have begun to take the lead on security in the country, and that transition is on track to be completed in 2014. Worldview talks with Ambassador Ivo Daalder, the United States Permanent Representative to NATO, about the future of the organization’s role in global security. Also, Avirama Golan, a correspondent with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, discusses the recent social unrest in Israel.
