Illini go to the Rosebowl

SHARE Illini go to the Rosebowl

Get ready, Illini football fans. The University of Illinois takes on the University of Southern California later today in the Rose Bowl.

It’s been 24 years since Illinois got an invite to the Rose Bowl...and it only barely happened this year. The team was a long-shot for a prime bowl bid...but Ohio State ‘s last minute jump to the championship game opened up a slot in Pasadena for the U of I. The 9 and 3 Illini are led by quarterback Isiah “Juice” Williams. Williams has thrown for almost 15-hundred yards this year...and rushed for another 800. U-S-C is favored in the game...appearing in its third straight Rose Bowl. Kickoff is at 4 o’clock this afternoon. I’m Sam Hudzik, Chicago Public Radio.
