Abortion Clinics React to Court Ruling

SHARE Abortion Clinics React to Court Ruling

A Chicago abortion group says they are disappointed in a court ruling that favors anti-abortion protestors. A ruling by a federal judge this week eliminates an order that funneled lawsuits against violent protestors to one court.

Illinois Planned Parenthood President Pam Sutherland says while the judge’s decision is upsetting, her group has another source of protection.

SUTHERLAND: Why we’re not really fearful right now about what this judge did is because we still have the federal law that protects women and protects our clinics.

That federal law is the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Sutherland says this act achieves the protection clinics need.
