Illinois sex offenders may be under more scrutiny soon.

The social networking site MySpace.com compiled lists of convicted sex offenders with online profiles.

The site’s now giving names to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.

Madigan says the state often gives sex offenders conditions before release.

MADIGAN: And those may include, that you cannot be on the Internet, you cannot be talking with children, and so there’s a very good chance that for some of these folks, if they are currently on parole or probation, that they violated those conditions.

Madigan says investigators are comparing MySpace data with offenders’ specific records.

MySpace recently kicked seven thousand registered sex offenders out of its database.

Five hundred and eighty four of them were from Illinois.
