Transit funding plans have stalled again in Springfield. The Illinois House voted against a bill that included funding for Chicago’s mass transit systems. Today, House Speaker Michael Madigan sent lawmakers home until further notice. This comes after months of political in-fighting in Springfield, and two last-minute bailouts of the Regional Transportation Authority. But Illinois Senate President Emil Jones says the legislature isn’t to blame.
