Southwest Partnership Could Mean More Air Traffic at Midway

SHARE Southwest Partnership Could Mean More Air Traffic at Midway

Southwest Airlines announced today a possible partnership that could make Chicago’s Midway Airport the airline’s biggest hub. Southwest says it’s taken the first step toward offering its customers flights to Canada through a partnership with low-fare carrier WestJet. Airline spokeswoman Brandy King says Midway Airport has a lot of potential as a possible site for connecting flights.

KING: It is our second largest airport. We have room to grow at that airport, so you have all the elements in order to grow our service and it does become an attractive connecting point.

But King says no final decisions will be announced until late 2009.
