Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis is being asked to explain his crime fighting strategies to city council. West Side Alderman Isaac Carothers says officers tell him morale in the department is at an all time low. But Mayor Daley dismisses that.

DALEY: Listen, no one likes a new boss. No one likes new procedures. And Jody Weis is well-recognized as a police officer, well-recognized as administrator, and handles a lot of issues that you have to handle.

Daley says he has full confidence in Weis. He’s sure the superintendent will be satisfy the city council at next week’s hearing.
