Bears Camp Opens Today

SHARE Bears Camp Opens Today

The Chicago Bears open training camp today in Bourbonnais, and they’ll be facing a very familiar question.

The biggest question heading into training camp is one that’s seemingly plagued the Bears for decades: Who will play quarterback?

The incumbent is Rex Grossman, whose erratic play has drawn fierce criticism over the past few years. Battling Grossman is three-year veteran Kyle Orton.

Bears Coach Lovie Smith insists there’s no favorite between the two, telling reporters yesterday the two are “dead even”.

The quarterbacks will start making their cases today, as practice kicks off at Olivet Nazarene University. The Bears first pre-season game is August 7 at Soldier Field. They’ll open the regular season on September 7 against the Colts in Indianapolis.
