Walkway Collapses in Hammond

SHARE Walkway Collapses in Hammond

Seven construction workers are recovering after a walkway they were on collapsed outside the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. The walkway served as a bridge to a new section of the casino. Hammond’s Chief Fire Inspector Kevin Margraf says the collapse didn’t leave much debris.

MARGRAF: I’d say maybe five, six, seven feet of the lower part of that had found itself into the water, but all in all it’s probably going to be an easy fix for them just to take care of.

Officials are looking into the cause of Tuesday morning’s collapse. The casino was closed at the time of the incident. It is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation.
