Warm Weekend, Free Water?

SHARE Warm Weekend, Free Water?

We’ve got a warm weekend ahead for the Chicago area. Temperatures are expected in the 80s through the weekend, reaching the mid-90s on Monday.

Oak Park resident Nathan Bailey is among the quarter-million people expected downtown for the Lollapalooza music festival. He’s not too worried about the heat.

BAILEY: I don’t think it’s going to be that bad. I think if we do run out of water or something, people aren’t going to want to see us die. They’ll take care of us. I don’t know if that’s true, but I’m really hoping.

He’s right. Chicago officials say festival organizers will pass out free water the temperature hits 90 degrees.

Meantime, the city is urging the public to keep an eye on neighbors as the heat rises.
