With just three months until the Presidential election, Northwest Indiana residents are signing up to vote in record numbers. Kathryn Kozuszek manages the voter registration department in Porter County. She attributes the increase to Indiana’s significance in the presidential primary.

KOZUSZEK: The presidential candidates were usually sewn up by then, and I believe that’s what led to the overwhelming interest in the election and will continue.

Kozuszek says registration is already up 20 percent from 4 years ago. October 3 is the last day to register in Indiana for the general election.
