The Pentagon has opened another round of bidding for a 35 Billion dollar Air Force tanker deal. This comes after complaints from Chicago-based Boeing helped scuttle the original award.

It’s round two for Boeing Company and a team that includes Northrup Grumman Corporation and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company. At stake, a massive contract to build refueling tankers.

On Wednesday the Department of Defense issued a new Request for Proposals; that’s after an original deal that awarded the contract to the Northrup Grumman team was spoiled. A government review found significant errors were made in the first award.

The Department of Defense wants to make a new pick by the end of the year. In a statement, Boeing says it’s too early to offer any details about its’ path forward.
