White Sox Gear Up for Game 2

SHARE White Sox Gear Up for Game 2

Chicago’s two baseball teams are a combined 0 for 3 in the playoffs so far. The White Sox will try to get in the win column this evening. The second game of their American League Division Series against Tampa Bay starts at 5:00 PM.

The White Sox will turn to ace pitcher Mark Buerhle when they take on the Rays in Tampa Bay. The South Siders will need Buerhle to keep Rays’ rookie Evan Longoria in check. In Game One, Longoria became just the second player ever to hit home runs in each of his first two postseason at bats.

Tampa Bay had the best home record in baseball this year, while the White Sox had the worst road record among any team in the playoffs. The Sox will have to break that trend in hurry. Since Tampa Bay has home field advantage, Chicago needs to win at least one game in Florida to take the series.

The Cubs have the day off today. They take on the Dodgers in LA tomorrow night.
