SHARE Cubs Lock Hendry into 4-Year Deal

General manager Jim Hendry and the Chicago Cubs have agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2012 season. Terms of the deal were not released. Hendry’s served as the Cubs’ GM since 2002.

The move came following the Cubs’ best regular season in more than six decades. They won their second straight NL Central title, but got swept out of the playoffs for the second straight year.

Listen to excerpts of a conference call with Hendry and Cubs chairman Crane Kenney. They’re answering questions from reporters, mostly about next season.
