Daley Asks Why Plows Missed Some Street Corners

SHARE Daley Asks Why Plows Missed Some Street Corners

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says he wants to know why some street corners weren’t plowed properly following this week’s snow storms.

DALEY: That’s the key. That’s the key. How do they miss corners? How do they miss a corner over here and take every corner down Madison Street. Why did they miss that corner? So that’s what you’re trying to figure out.

Some aldermen had complained earlier in the week that the city’s plows had missed entire street corners. The head of Chicago’s Streets and Sanitation Department didn’t answer questions at a press conference yesterday. The city spent close to half a million dollars on clean-up. Daley says he doesn’t know how the spending will affect the budget for snow removal for the rest of the winter.
