Barack Obama’s transition team says the president-elect’s staff has had no questionable contact with Illinois’s governor about who would replace Obama in the U.S. Senate. Governor Rod Blagojevich gets to name Obama’s successor but was charged this month with trying to sell the Senate seat for cash. We asked people on Chicago’s Northwest Side whether that charge taints Obama and how the president-elect could move on.
