The leader of the Nation of Islam says President-Elect Barack Obama needs to mention God more often in his public speeches.

Minister Louis Farrakhan, who rarely gives interviews, talked for two hours on a WVON radio show last night. He says Obama needs God’s intervention.

FARRAKHAN: It’s going to take much more than a stimulus package to save America in this hour. The answer is given, and it’s not with money.

Farrakhan says he’s happy Obama won and proud of Americans for electing him. He never thought he’d see an African-American president in his lifetime.

Farrakhan says Obama wasn’t just a black candidate, he was an American candidate. And he thinks Obama had to look at the bigger picture, to attract white voters and get elected.
