Public May get to Hear Blagojevich on Tape This Week

SHARE Public May get to Hear Blagojevich on Tape This Week

The public may soon get to hear a few of the recordings the FBI secretly made of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s phone conversations.

In December, an Illinois house committee considering the impeachment of Governor Blagojevich asked prosecutors to share the evidence that led to the governor’s arrest.

For the most part prosecutors declined saying they didn’t want to compromise their ongoing investigation but they were willing to give the committee four recorded phone calls. On Friday, Judge James Holderman gave them permission to do so. Those tapes will be included as evidence in the impeachment trial and legislators, and the public, could be listening to them as early as next week.
