Daley Calls on Democrats to Support Each Other

SHARE Daley Calls on Democrats to Support Each Other

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is weighing in on race for Illinois governor. Incumbent Pat Quinn is narrowly beating state Comptroller Dan Hynes for the Democratic nomination. Daley wouldn’t say if Hynes should concede yet, even though Quinn has claimed victory.

DALEY: I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s real close. I don’t know about that. I haven’t seen the end results.

Daley compared the situation to his failed campaign for Chicago mayor in 1983. He says when he lost to Harold Washington, he still went to the unity breakfast the following morning to support Washington’s campaign.
