With such tight contests in the Republican race for governor, many election parties last night went long. And many party-goers left without knowing how their candidate did.

Around 11 p.m., Andy McKenna and his running mate Matt Murphy got on the stage briefly to address supporters gathered in Skokie, north of Chicago.

MCKENNA: I just didn’t want to impose on you tonight anymore. I just want to let you know how much Matt and I and Mary and Julie appreciate everything you’ve done for us, everything you’ve been a part of and lets see how this moves along and see where we land in the morning or maybe in the next couple days. Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

McKenna has landed in with 19 percent of the vote with 99 percent of precincts reporting.
