Scott Lee Cohen could lose another endorsement Monday. The board of Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ political action committee is meeting this morning.

Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Beth Kanter says the conference call was scheduled to discuss whether or not to withdraw the group’s endorsement of Cohen. He was one of four Democrats the group endorsed for lieutenant governor.

Almost immediately after Cohen’s surprise victory last Tuesday, the candidate started facing questions about his past, including an arrest for domestic battery. Cohen denies the allegations from his ex-girlfriend are true, and points out the case was dismissed.

As the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, Cohen would be paired on the ballot with the party’s nominee for governor, incumbent Pat Quinn, who has indicated he thinks Cohen should step aside. Last week Cohen lost the endorsement of Chicago Alderman Scott Waguespack.

But Aldermen Bernie Stone and Carrie Austin stood by Cohen, noting that he was not convicted of wrongdoing. In a statement, Cohen says the allegations stem from a “difficult time in [his] life.”
