Chicago Transit Authority officials say they’ll meet tomorrow with the Reverend Jesse Jackson. Jackson criticizes the agency’s recent layoffs and service cuts.

It’s not clear whether bus and rail union leaders will also meet with Jackson and CTA Chair Terry Peterson. Peterson says he’s reached out to the unions but gotten little response.

PETERSON: The CTA remains willing to meet with 241 and Local 308 at any time to have meaningful dialogue about reducing costs and restore services.

The CTA last week reduced bus and rail service and laid off more than 1,000 people. A union official did not immediately return call for comment.
