Moline, Ill. based Deere and Company is recalling 117 workers who were previously laid off.

Ken Golden is a spokesman for Deere. He says orders have picked up, and the company expects a 21 percent increase in sales in its construction and forestry divisions this year.

Sixty-five workers will return to the Dubuque, Iowa plant, and 52 employees will return to Deere’s Davenport location.

Golden says the employees all work in manufacturing. The hundred-plus workers were laid off and then recalled based upon seniority. They’re members of the United Auto Workers labor union.
