Parents behaving badly and the social contract

After witnessing too many parents freak out at kids' sporting events, Buffalo Grove trustee Mike Terson recently put up signs in a local park urging moms and dads to behave themselves. While parents have been yelling at coaches for generations, Terson thinks things have gotten worse. Has the social contract broken down? Can we no longer be nice to one another? Terson and Amy Dickinson, who writes the syndicated “Ask Amy” column for the Chicago Tribune, look at parental conduct and whether we still know how to treat one another with respect.
