Loyola University opens doors for undocumented immigrants

Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine is taking its own steps towards immigration reform. The school has plans to waive legal residency as an admissions requirement and offer financing to undocumented immigrants. This all stems from an executive order President Barack Obama signed last year allowing immigrants, brought here as children, access to live and work. Without this order of legal immigration, a medical residency could not be obtained. Linda Brubaker, Dean and Chief diversity officer at Stritch School of Medicine explains why this decision is a turning point for the university. (Photo: David Mcnew)
