Theme Park Culture

July is reserved for family vacations. And one of the most popular destinations for the family roadster would be the good old-fashioned theme park. From Disneyland to Six Flags, theme parks have always been at the heart of the American family’s Summer plans. But in 2013, does that plan have to change? Do high admission, food and travel prices force Americans to change their behaviors? Are we still a culture of theme parks? Our guest is Len Testa, co-author of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, and The Unofficial Guide to British Theme Parks. Testa is responsible for these things called "Touring Plans" that were the result of his graduate thesis, and he is the lead researcher for TouringPlans.com. (Photo: Jamie Brinkert)
